You may know what a photo booth looks like and what it is used for. These booths can be usually found in shopping malls or funfairs and can take different pictures of you, one after another, and can develop them automatically in the end. This will allow you to have a lot of fun with your friends. But what if you could have your own photo booth at home? Now you can with the help of a web camera and the Sparkbooth application. This is a Windows application that can take photos of you in a manner similar to a photo booth.

Being a Windows application, Sparkbooth can be installed and used by anyone, having a familiar installation wizard and a graphical interface. After the program is loaded, it will automatically detect your webcam. At this point, you can make some adjustments regarding the webcam, like setting the frame rate, the resolution or applying different effects to the image. After doing this, it is enough to press the SPACE key for starting the process.

The program will then take four pictures using the webcam, at a certain time interval. These photos can be then printed or uploaded to various image sharing websites. Sparkbooth can be configured to perform all these tasks completely automatically, after taking the pictures. The software is compatible with most web cameras and most printers and also supports numerous image sharing services, like Picasa or Flickr. Using the options section, the user can change the layout of the photos and can also choose a new theme for the interface.
